IPv6 Residential Service

Posted January 1, 2014 by Webpass

Today Webpass completed dual stacking the entire East Bay network with IPv4 and IPv6 for all residential customers. All customers are offered IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and both addressing schemes fully supported. Most residential customers will not notice the change but it is a significant technical change as the older IPv4 addressing scheme can not support any additional growth. All of the IPv4 addresses are allocated and no more are available while IPv6 provides an exponentially larger number of usable addresses. Webpass will complete the IPv6 deployment in every city over the next 4 to 6 weeks.
