Simple Urban Fiber: More than just a Buzz Word
Last week Webpass added five more buildings to our Fiber backbone.
So this feels like a great time to clarify how Fiber fits into our network, since there is much buzz around the word “Fiber,” but with limited understanding. At the heart of our network is our mission, to make accessing the Internet a simple experience for customers. We know this is not the norm in the ISP industry, which is what has earned us rave reviews from our customers.
We deliver on this mission, by selling service, not technology. This is also not the norm in the ISP industry, where many providers are heavily marketing the particular technology (DOCSIS, Fiber, Cell) they have to sell. Our customers want service. So what we provide is service – fast speeds, a great price without the teaser rate, the ability to be contract free and end service at any time, and simple and quick installations.
As their ISP, we are able to consistently deliver the service they want, because we are technology agnostic, using the appropriate technology for each situation. Our point-to-point wireless technology allows us to quickly expand, offer service immediately without a waitlist, and bring service to areas that are less geographically accessible (Coronado Island in San Diego as one example). Our Fiber technology integrates into core areas of our network to strengthen the network for a future of unlimited speed upgrades. And given that we continue to be approached by leading edge manufacturers, with next generation technologies, we won’t stop there in harnessing technology to provide great service.
So as consumers, remember what you ultimately want – Internet service. Don’t be fooled by ISPs that are marketing technology. Technology is rapidly advancing. The provider that is able to remain technology agnostic will be nimble enough to provide you the service you want today, minus the wait list and will also be able to provide you with the service you don’t even know you want yet, tomorrow.
