    Seattle

    Installation and Construction Technician

    Webpass is hiring an Installation & Network Construction Technician to join our team in Seattle. Your primary focus will be residential installs however the position will support construction as well.

    The schedule is Thursday-Monday and the position is a fixed-term role.

    Requirements:
    -1 year of pulling, terminating and testing CAT5/ CAT6 in residential and commercial environments
    -Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues related to routers, switches and hubs
    -Recent experience with: Rack and stack work, putting together server racks, Closet work, -and Patch panels
    -Ability to engage with the customer and communicate effectively
    -Able to present self in a professional and positive manner
    -Excellent time management skills to make set appointment times
    -Valid driver’s license

    Responsibilities:

    Residential Installation:
    We build our network specifically to deliver Internet, so it is a quick and easy install for both you and our customers.
    -Verify the jack is punched down correctly
    -Make any required cross connects to complete the connection all the way back to the telecom closet
    -Set up the customer’s router
    Network Construction:
    You will build, troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain our Network! Every building is different so we rely on our technicians to bring a diverse skill set, exercise solid judgment, and collaborate well as a team. Bringing new buildings onto our network includes:
    -Conduct site surveys
    -Design cable pathways
    -Run and terminating CAT6 cables
    -Install radio mounts and grounding systems
    -Mount switches and POEs
    -Point microwave point-to-point radios and testing for service

    Software Engineer

    Webpass, an Alphabet company, is hiring a Software Engineer to join our team in San Francisco.

    Webpass is a standalone business unit within Google Fiber (acquired in Aug. 2016) that leverages point-to-point wireless technologies to deliver high-speed broadband services to residents in apartment and condo buildings, as well as small businesses. Webpass operates in six markets: San Francisco, San Diego, Miami, Chicago, Denver, and Seattle. Webpass is revolutionizing what customers can expect from their Internet Service Provider. We do one thing, and we do it really well.

    The Role

    We need a talented software engineer to develop customer-facing products and enterprise tools that power our business growth. This position requires a well-rounded skill set up and down the stack, but leans towards back-end and application development. Engineering at Webpass offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of enterprise products and engineering challenges including:

    -CRM/ERP
    -Network monitoring and device management
    -Financial and accounting systems
    -Analytics, reporting and large-scale data processing
    -Field service and dispatch management

    Job Responsibilities

    -Work cross-functionally with leaders, UX, and end users to build features and shape our long-term technical roadmap.
    -Architect enterprise tools and systems from the ground-up.
    -Scale and improve existing Webpass software to meet the needs of our growing business and customer base.
    -Leverage tools and platforms in the Alphabet/Google ecosystem along with third-party vendors.

    What we’re looking for
    -5+ years of relevant experience with software development and implementation.
    -5+ years developing enterprise software and systems.
    -Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: -Python/Java/Ruby/C++.
    -Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    -Experience developing APIs and integrating third-party services.
    -Experience working with a large, legacy codebase on a cross functional team.
    -Solid knowledge of SQL and ORMs.
    -Bonus points
    -Previous experience with large-scale Ruby on Rails applications.
    -Linux and basic system administration skills.
    -Developed systems at an ISP or telecom company.
    -Job experience at an Alphabet company.
